Acceptance

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published here, dated above.

Permitted use

You may read, print, share and quote anything on this site. You may not:

• Present our material as your own, or strip attribution from it.
• Use our name, logo or brand in a way that implies partnership or endorsement we have not given.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools in a way that degrades the service for other people.
• Solicit donations in our name without a written fundraising agreement.

Reusing our material

Our fact sheets, toolkits and health library articles are published so they can be used. You may translate and adapt them for non-commercial purposes provided you credit us and do not alter clinical guidance in a way that changes its meaning. Ask us and we will send you the editable source files.

Photographs are a separate matter. Most are licensed to us for our own use only, and the people in them consented to appear in our material rather than in yours — so please do not reuse imagery without asking first.

Donations

• Donations are voluntary and, except where consumer law requires otherwise, non-refundable. If you have made an error, contact us — we would rather correct a mistake than keep money you did not intend to give.
• Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time, without explanation, and take effect before the next scheduled payment.
• Where you choose a designated programme, we honour that designation. If a programme is fully funded or closes, we will apply the gift to the nearest equivalent work and tell you we have done so.
• Tax treatment depends on your country of residence and is your responsibility to determine.

Applications

Submitting a volunteer or job application does not create a contract or guarantee a placement. Clinical placements are contingent on verified registration, references and a satisfactory safeguarding check, without exception.

Accuracy of content

We take care to be accurate, and our health content is clinically reviewed. Even so, the material here is general information published at a point in time. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for professional advice — please read the medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Figures describing our work are drawn from our most recent audited accounts and programme reports. Where a number is an estimate, we say so at the point we use it.

External links

We link to other organisations where it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or how they handle your data.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the organisation is registered, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
