What we are actually solving

EpiC sustains malaria service delivery at community level and for at-risk populations moving along international borders. Village malaria workers (VMWs) and mobile malaria workers (MMWs) carry out outreach in high-risk border corridors and at population movement points used by migrant and internally displaced people.

The project supports monthly and bi-monthly VMW and MMW meetings, performance and communication fees, and quarterly supervision visits conducted across every level — from the National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control down through provincial health departments, operational districts and health centres to the workers themselves.

Our approach

Three things we insist on

  1. Community-level delivery

    Lifesaving malaria service delivery through village and mobile malaria workers living in the communities they serve.

  2. Border corridors

    Outreach at high-risk border corridors and population movement points reaching migrant and displaced populations.

  3. Supervision across levels

    Quarterly supervision visits from national through provincial, operational district and health centre level to each worker.
