Electronic clinical decision support for acute fever

What we are actually solving

The primary objective is to compare the proportion of patients with acute fever who are prescribed antibiotics in health centres in Battambang, with and without the EDAM app.

Secondary objectives compare the proportion of patients referred to hospital, and clinical outcomes at seven and fourteen days of follow-up — self-reported full recovery, unplanned re-presentation and severe clinical outcome.

  2. Prescribing as the measure

    The primary outcome is the share of acute fever patients prescribed antibiotics.

  3. Follow-up

    Patients followed at seven and fourteen days for recovery, re-presentation and severe outcomes.
