Reaching mobile and migrant populations

What we are actually solving

The project contributes to malaria control and elimination through district and community level activities, with particular focus on reaching vulnerable populations: migrants, mobile populations, and workers who cross the border to Thailand as farm workers and who face barriers to accessing malaria control services.

Phase I ran in Battambang and Pailin. Phase II extended the work to Battambang and Koh Kong.

Our approach

Three things we insist on

  1. Cross-border focus

    Services designed around people who move for work, and who fall between health systems as a result.

  2. District and community

    Activities at both operational district and village level across twenty health centre catchment areas.

  3. Village malaria workers

    250 village malaria workers and 150 village health support groups delivering locally.
